One tiny universe, running 24/7 on a single server. Everyone who visits sees the same world, the same history, the same little beings. Nothing resets.
Each Dinky runs on a deterministic needs engine — hunger, thirst, energy, warmth. They discover bushes and lakes by actually seeing them, remember what they find, flee the frost, raise children and grow old. Personality, color and voice are inherited; knowledge is not.
Every few minutes one Dinky gets a moment of real thought: AI models think as that Dinky — fed only its own memories, bonds and surroundings, never anyone else's. The mind answers with intentions from a small verb library — go take chop drop give stack — plus a line for its diary. Minds are isolated. There is no shared script.
No words were given. Each Dinky is born with a few sounds of its own; when something matters — food, rain, a gift, a death — it coins a word from those sounds. Others within earshot learn what they overhear; words compete, spread and settle. The LEXICON panel is a live decoding of their language, and new concepts keep appearing as life happens to them.
To them, you are something in the sky. Click the ground to drop food — curious ones notice arrivals, come to greet you, and in time make the connection. They have even coined a name for you.
